Camp Check in for out-of-town students is Sunday, July 11, 2010 between 4pm & 6pm. Out of town students will receive a cell phone # in case of delays. After dinner, students assemble for assignment @ 7PM in Student Lounge at the Eagle Hall Dormitory. Please see the Campus Map on the Camp website. It can be downloaded for easy reference.  All out-of-town students MUST check in before 7PM. Once you arrive, we will have pizza and soft drinks for you and family members. At 7pm, we will assemble in the Lounge at Eagle Dormitory for assignment in one of two Big Bands and one of 6 combos while at Camp. After that, you can play volleyball, toss around a Frisbee or watch TV before lights out.

Bring your own bedding. It's summer and there are no housekeeping services available. Sheets, light blanket (optional) and a pillow. Some students simply bring a sleeping bag with a pillow.

Make sure to pack stuff like soap, towels, shampoo, deodorant and whatever items you normally use. Unfortunately, we will not have these items available for sale at Camp.

All Students report to the Band Room in the Fine Arts Building at 7:45am SHARP on July 12th. Do not be late! Directions are very easy. The Fine Arts Building is an easy walk from the Dorm. All meals will be served on the 2nd floor of the Student Union, directly across from the Fine Arts Building. A Campus Camp can be found on the website under 'Campus Map'.

PERSONAL PROPERTY IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL STUDENTS. THE COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN IDAHO AND THE GREAT BASIN JAZZ CAMP ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS.

Casual summer attire (men & women) is permitted in good taste.

An evening outing will be scheduled during the course of Camp.

Students must bring casual dress attire for Friday Concert. White button up shirts for males; white blouse for females. Black or dark blue pants for males; dark slacks acceptable for female students. Black or dark brown shoes ONLY. NO tennis shoes! No sandals of any kind. Shoes MUST be worn to Concert. This will be an advertised public Concert with a POSSIBLE added attraction.

NOTE: LAST YEAR, WE HAD STUDENTS WHO DID NOT READ THIS PART AND WORE CLOTHING REALLY OUT OF PLACE. IN 2010, IF YOU HAVE A HARDSHIP SITUATION, WE WILL ASSIST YOU WITH CLOTHING. OTHERWISE, WE CANNOT ALLOW YOU TO PERFORM AT THE CAMP CONCERT UNLESS YOU HAVE THE REQUIRED CLOTHING.

No bare feet in classes. Flip-flop type sandals NOT ALLOWED. Open sandals w/ strap(s) are OK. No student will be allowed in classes with 'flip flops.'

Students will be housed two to a room. If you have a roommate preference, please let us know at time of application or at time of check-in.

NO COED HOUSING

Bottled water and fruit juices will be provided during all classes.

Students should bring their own instruments and accessories. Brass players: Bring your mutes! If you need instrument rental, please let us know before July 1, 2010. Drums, guitar amps and upright basses will be provided. We will also have a vibraphone. If you double on other instruments, please let us know.

IMPORTANT

IF PARENTS HAVE RELATIVES IN THE AREA AND THEY WISH TO VISIT WITH YOUR MINOR YOUNGSTER, THE STUDENT CANNOT LEAVE THE PREMISES WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM HIS/HER PARENTS. IF A RELATIVE WANTS TO TAKE YOUR YOUNGSTER OFF THE GROUNDS OF THE COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN IDAHO, WE MUST HAVE YOUR WRITTEN PERMISSION BEFORE WE CAN ALLOW THE STUDENT TO LEAVE.

YOUR CHILD'S PROTECTION IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE TO US!

IF A MINOR STUDENT LEAVES CAMPUS WITH YOUR PERMISSION, THEY MUST BE BACK AT THE DORM BY 10pm.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING IN THIS MATTER.
